【Okaya City Event News】The Third Open Air Market is Here!

The next Open Air Market event kicks off on Saturday, August 19!

The month of August will feature local vendors who will be selling Hizawa corn and other fresh seasonal produce. Not only will you be able to buy directly from producers, there will also be plenty of delicious food, too! Come and indulge in karaage and freshly baked bread, as well as mulberry jam, organic tomato sauce, sweets, and more.

The Open Air Market will also feature a clarinet and soprano sax performance at 9:30 and 10:00 as well as a tractor riding experience (torakutaa jousha taiken) for children.

We hope that many people can come attend and enjoy what the market has to offer.

The first 100 visitors to the Market will receive FREE tickets to the Okaya Silk Museum! The latest special exhibition, “Japanese Red, Japanese Purple” (Nihon Akane, Nihon Shikon) displays the works of three artisans and runs until Sunday, August 20. You’ll definitely want to enjoy both the Market and exhibition this Saturday.
