Okaya City Garbage Collection
Here in Okaya City, we work hard to keep our city clean and beautiful.
To achieve this, we need the help of all residents.
Please review the following 7 important points regarding garbage collection.
1. Check Your Garbage Collection Calendar
- Garbage collection days vary depending on your residential area and the type of garbage.
- Please make sure to separate your garbage correctly and use the designated Okaya City garbage bags for each collection day.

2. Check the Garbage Collection Point Instructions
- Each garbage collection point has a sign board.
- Dispose of garbage according to the types indicated on the sign and in the designated area.
- Do not put garbage out at collection points outside your own residential area.

- 3.Ensure to put out for collection on time
- Please put out all garbage before 8:30 a.m.
- Do not put out garbage the night before or after 8:30 a.m.

4.Clearly label all bags with your name.
- Please write your full name on garbage bags in area provided.

5. Make sure you know the daily limits
- Up to two bags of burnable waste may be put out per collection day.

6. Properly Dispose of Metal Items and Small Appliances
Metal items and small appliances (such as pots, frying pans, hair dryers, electric kettles, clocks, etc.) should be disposed of using one of the following methods:
- Ask a specialized disposal company to handle them.
- Use a paid collection service in your area
- Dispose at electronic retailer

7. Take note of holidays
- There is no garbage collection during Obon (August 15–16) and the year-end/New Year holidays (December 29–January 3).
- Please do not leave garbage or recyclables at collection points on these days.
