{"id":1246,"date":"2023-11-08T13:25:29","date_gmt":"2023-11-08T04:25:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/oiea.jp\/en\/?p=1246"},"modified":"2023-11-08T13:25:31","modified_gmt":"2023-11-08T04:25:31","slug":"notice-the-expiration-date-on-residence-cards-and-special-permanent-resident-certificates-for-those-under-16-will-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/oiea.jp\/en\/notice-the-expiration-date-on-residence-cards-and-special-permanent-resident-certificates-for-those-under-16-will-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Notice: The Expiration Date on Residence Cards and Special Permanent Resident Certificates for Those Under 16 Will Change\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Beginning<strong> November 1, 2023<\/strong>, the expiration date (period of stay) on Residence Cards (<em>Zairy\u016b Kaado<\/em>) and Special Permanent Resident Certificates (<em>Tokubetsu Eij\u016bsha Sh\u014dmeisho<\/em>) issued to those who are under 16 years old will change. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table alignleft\"><table><tbody><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Date of Issuance \/ <br>Visa Status<\/td><td>Cards Issued Until <br><strong>October 31, 2023<\/strong><\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Cards Issued Starting <br><strong>November 1, 2023<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Permanent Residents \/ Special Permanent Residents Who Are Under 16 years old<\/td><td>Until the person\u2019s 16<sup>th<\/sup> birthday<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Until the day before the person\u2019s 16<sup>th<\/sup> birthday<\/td><\/tr><tr><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Mid-to-Long-Term Residents Who Are Under 16 years old<\/td><td>Until the period of stay expires or the day of the person\u2019s 16<sup>th <\/sup>birthday, whichever comes first<\/td><td class=\"has-text-align-left\" data-align=\"left\">Until the period of stay expires or the day before the person\u2019s 16<sup>th<\/sup> birthday, whichever comes first<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>The following is for those persons who currently have a Residence Card or Special Permanent Resident Certificate which is valid until their 16<sup>th<\/sup> birthday:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u30fbThe period of stay will continue to be valid for those whose expiration dates expire on their 16<sup>th<\/sup> birthday.
